Wight Dolphins celebrated the new year with the second Big Wight Beach Clean event which took place on Saturday 10th January 2026 at Grange Chine.
Wight Dolphins were not only blessed with beautiful blue skies & sunshine for the second Big Wight Beach Clean but they were also joined by a tremendous turnout of members of the public to help complete the task.
About 25 people gathered at Grange Chine with the quest of removing as much rubbish from the beautiful coastline as possible. Amongst the collected detritus were toothbrushes, a toilet brush, a wellington boot, a squeegee, loads of rope, polystyrene and plastic – all now destined for the tip rather than polluting the coastline and the ocean.
Thank you to Island Roads who will collect and remove the bumper bag haul. And a bigger thank you to everyone who took part, a terrific way to start 2026.
Planning for the inaugural Big Wight Sea Clean, which is due to take place on 2nd May 2026, is underway. Plus, of course, the Big Wight Beach Clean #3 which will be coming to a beach near you very soon.
